The motor casing (depicted here a Dr. Rocket 29/180) is the part that holds your propellant. They are available in a number of diameters like 29, 38 and 54mm. The Phobos 38 is of coarse meant for a 38mm casing but I have made an adapter to use a 29mm motor. Various lengths are available: 180mm, 240mm, up to 720mm. The NAVRO has several casings available for use by its members but if you are buying yourself it is wise to choose carefully which motor you want to fly.

At one end there is a holder for the nozzle (the black part), at the other end is the space for the delay element and the ejection charge.
